9 things to do this Valentine’s Day
Regardless of your current status, Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to reflect on what shape love takes in our lives.
February 14th is fast approaching and for many, this day of love is certainly one that may be sitting on your mind. Whether you like to keep plans to a minimum or would like to blow your partner away, we have 9 ideas, to make it easy for you.
1. Spa Day
It is no surprise that a day at the spa is one of the best ways to enjoy a day of pure bliss and relaxation. What could be more romantic than spending Valentine’s Day enjoying a nice treatment next to your other half?
If a body massage is not your cup of tea, there are plenty of lighter treatments and relaxation treats to ignite your spark. Even a dip in the pool is a great way to sit back and relax together.
Some of our favourite spots for a spa day are';
2. Host a dinner party for a close group of friends
Invite some friends over and host an intimate dinner party to share together. Whether it’s a three-course meal, afternoon tea or a few drinks, it’s the perfect way to show your friends how much you love them.
After dinner why not break out your favourite board game and let the fun and chaos ensue. Just make sure it’s not Monopoly (you don’t want any broken hearts on Valentine’s Day!).
3. Book a luxurious night away
Get packing with some of your essential belongings to a weekend away. This is especially romantic if you and your partner lead a very work-based lifestyle with little time for the finer things in life.
A couple of days away from the spotlight is a great way to relax together with a well-earned break. If possible, with no children to make it extra special!
Some of our favourite places are;
4. Private dining
Want to go out for a romantic meal tailored to your preferences and away from the prying eyes of other customers? Then private dining is your friend! Simply book a table at a venue that offers private dining and enjoy the peace and quiet and intimacy with your other half.
If you want to set the mood even further, ask the restaurant you are booking with if they can set your table with a floral arrangement and some candles.
5. Romantic picnic
Grab a picnic basket, a blanket and walk or drive to your favourite spot in nature for romantic picnic outdoors. With free reign over what you’d like to take with you, there’s a variety of different options to choose from!
Perhaps you and your partner could create a fun memory game and choose each other’s favourite food, snacks and drink and see how many you get right. Or maybe you’d like to opt for a more traditional Valentine’s Day picnic with a loaf of bread, wine, a selection of meats, cheeses, fruits and lots of chocolate!
No matter how you choose to do it, it’s a chance for you and your partner to create a magical moment together.
6. Hot air balloon ride
If you and your partner have an affinity for heights, then why book a private hot air balloon ride?
There’s something so romantic about being high up in the air and floating amongst the clouds (maybe you’ll even get to take a cheeky bottle of champagne up there with you too!).
With picturesque scenery and a gentle atmosphere this would make for an out of this world Valentine’s Day date.
7. Netflix and Chill
Get comfy, grab the popcorn and cuddle up to the one you love for a chilled night in at the movies! Watch some of your favourite rom-com’s or any movies that you and your partner enjoy together.
If you haven’t got any plans for the following day, why not continue into the early hours of the morning for an all-nighter filled with romance and fun.
8. Watch a burlesque show
Looking for some provocative fun? Then book you and your other half into a burlesque show happening on the 14th!
With exotic dance sequences, elegance and a decadent nature, it is the perfect thing to get you in the mood for an exciting evening.
9. Cook dinner together
With thousands of recipes available online, you could order the ingredients for your favourite dish, or make it easy by ordering a HelloFresh or Gousto.
Spending quality time cooking and adding a bit of wine, of course.
